Although the “T” in T-Groups stands for training, what I most love about T-Groups is the transformation that occurs in most people who complete a T-Group experience. In a T-Group, one learns about group development and group dynamics, as well as about giving and receiving personal feedback.
T-Groups highlight the emotional dynamics within a small group setting, providing the opportunity for participants to heighten interpersonal communication and provide feedback about members’ communication styles. Participation in a T-Group enables a person to increase her/his self-awareness and to gain information about his/her impact on others. This experience occurs in small groups of 8-12 people in which there is the opportunity to give feedback to other members of the group and to receive candid feedback about one’s impact on other members of the group.
